And a large number of airports had again unsightly autogen-free zones around them.* The new XP12 Global Scenery has, of course, new airport grass/3D free zones cut using the latest Global Airports, so autogen and forests are pretttty much perfectly excluded anyways and these exclusions are not needed.* Some airports still have content outside the airport boundary. And the odds of those exclusion zones accidentially catching a tiny corner of that autogen are now VERY high. As there wasn't any autogen close to the airport. There really isn't any more wiggle room nor any need to \"fill the gap\" around airports. But this also has some consequences for exclusion zones: If previously some artists put those in there, covering \"prophylactically\" the whole airport, this didn't cause THAT much harm. So autogen and forests will go right up to the airport boundary and the grass ends up right there:So that is why Julian's been so so \"tight\" recently with off-airport content. While the #12 frenzy hasn't begun yet, here are some pointers for Gateway Scenery artists or X-Plane 12 public beta testers:The airport boundaries will not create any \"buffer zone\" around them in the X-Plane 12 Global Scenery any more.
